Shanaka (Shaq) Yapa

Shaq began his rugby journey playing league at school before moving into touch rugby in 2006, where he found his passion. Known for his energy and playmaking ability in the middle and link positions, he has become a long-standing and respected member of the touch rugby community.

Shaq’s love for the game comes from more than just competition — he thrives on the friendships, fitness, and positive culture that touch football brings. Over the years, he has played socially, competed in the VT League, and proudly represented Victoria Storm at Nationals.
