In 2008, Shane's exceptional performance saw him don the national jersey, representing the Sri Lanka Tuskers in the HSBC Asia Series. The following year, he was named in the prestigious Hong Kong 7's squad in 2009, showcasing his skills on an international stage. Among his proudest achievements was being a member of the Abdul Jabbar Trophy-winning team in 2005, where Thurstan College triumphed over Isipathana College.
